Creative Date Week 9 - Hunter Mountain Trip

Updated: Oct 25, 2019

Me and a few friends decided to go for a day trip to Hunter Mountain on Oct 20. I was amazed by how beautiful and colorful the fall is in New York outside the city.

When I was screaming on the car, all other friends think the fall here is normal and not surprising anymore since they have lived here for many years. But I just cannot express how grateful I am to be able to experience the fall again and watching 8 hours of yellow, orange and red color leaves on the road. It was a rainy day with fog covered the mountains most of the time, but I still manage to see the beautiful orange landscape on top the Hunter Mountain. However, the weather is too cold for light jacket so we decided not to stay too long on the mountain. Instead, we walked around the area after we took the cable car back to the carpark. At the bottom of the mountain, a small Sunday market was going on. People were drinking beers, eating hotdogs, watching the live music performance. The place makes me feel like I was in an American movie, and it is completely different from the feeling in New York city.

One of my favorite parts of the trip is actually not the last destination we went, but on the car observing the countryside of America. Some small towns we passed by have American chalets with large space of lawn in front the house. Since Halloween is coming, people decorated their lawn and houses with pumpkin, flowers, spider nets and ghosts. It just matches so well with the changing color tress at the side of the house. I enjoyed watching the serene views outside the car window and being present to the moment surrounding by the nature.
