Future ecosystem for EV Mobility and Urban Integration
Our focus is to investigate the integration of charging infrastructure with urban planning and the possibility of portable charging facilities, aiming to create a sustainable, convenient, inclusive and stress-free mobility experience for electronic vehicle (EV) users. By strategically designing charging stations within urban areas, we can ensure accessibility for a larger population. Implementing charging infrastructure in workplaces, shopping centers, and residential areas will allow EV owners to conveniently charge their vehicles while going about their daily activities.
Ideations and Sketch
Our idea is to create a speculative future mobility ecosystem design with Unity and 3D technology. In the phase one, We train the Stable Diffusion with detailed, descriptve prompts for our initial ideation process. Here are some different directions of our explorations:
Portable Charging Stations
We image the portable and mobile charging service will provide a food truck like experience that it allows people to charge and rest anywhere.

Accessibilty and Inclusivity
Traveling with an electric vehicle (EV) can often be a stressful experience due to the inadequate placement of charging stations. Many of these stations are tucked away in inconvenient locations such as behind gas stations, in small alleys, or near motels. These hidden spots not only pose safety concerns but also lack the amenities necessary to cater to the needs of EV drivers and their families. Even if the charging stations is built in shopping plaza, they usually don't provide dedicated space for drivers to relax.
To alleviate these challenges, we propose the creation of an integrated rest stop explicitly designed for EV drivers. Strategically located near highway exits, this rest stop will offer a range of amenities to enhance the charging experience. It will feature a co-working lounge and café, providing a comfortable space for drivers to relax or catch up on work. Additionally, amenities such as a shower room and a dedicated lactation room for new mothers will ensure that drivers and their families have access to essential facilities.
Recognizing the importance of health and well-being, the rest stop will also include a 24-hour gym, allowing drivers to exercise and rejuvenate during their journey. To optimize space and accommodate more drivers, the rest stop can be designed with multiple levels, ensuring efficient use of available space.
